Despite its flimsy materiality, the mask has become an iconic symbol of protection in the face of the existential threat of catastrophic bushfires and unprecedented weather events. Using the ancient elements of fire, water, earth and air, Sydney Art Exchange explores human vulnerability and a futile future if there are no solutions to fix the underlying causes of climate change.
