Urban Sketching Taree

We will start and end at: 

Manning Regional Art Gallery, 12 Macquarie St, Taree

Proposed outline as follows: 

10am – Meet for introductions. Share tips and examples. To help people who are new to this type of sketching we will warm up with some quick sketches of our immediate surrounds. 

10:20am – Walk the block near the Art Gallery to select a starting point for sketching. We may choose more than one location and settle for an hour. 

10:30 – Sketch on location. Apply pencil, watercolour and ink as you choose. 

11:30am – Return to Art Gallery. Finish off, with colour, fresh water etc. Show and share the experience and results of sketching on location. 

12:15pm – Photograph our sketches for the Art Gallery digital records. 

12:30pm – Close and enjoy the gallery exhibits. 

RECOMMENDED MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT (we don’t need much)

1. Pencils (HB/2B) 
2. Sketching paper 
3. Watercolour paper 
4. Clip board or pad and pegs
5. Kneadable eraser 
6. Watercolour paint set 
7. Brushes (dagger &/or round brush)
8. Water pots & paper towels 
9. Fineliner pens (waterproof) suggested sizes 0.05, 0.2, 0.5 
10. Smartphone or camera (for photo reference) 
11. Sunscreen, hat, drinking water bottle 
12. Lightweight stool (unless there is a handy park bench)
