PROJECT #22 James Pearson - How to make your own portrait with collage

Come along to the Gallery during opening hours and get involved in the latest Artist's take on the The Wall Project!

The Wall Project is a public project allowing local artists to explore, collaborate and showcase their artistic skills in an interactive environment: one of the Gallery’s internal walls during opening hours.

James is a multidisciplinary artist. Early on in his career he won the Australian National Design Award and has since presented at international conferences on behalf of Disney and Adobe. His background is animation, having worked on internationally recognised titles in film, television and games for companies such as Disney, Warner Brothers, and Sony Imageworks.

"Using recycled materials I will replace the traditional painter’s palette to build the structure, light and composition of a portrait. The technique of collage provides an accessible medium for an audience to observe as it removes technical limitations and preconceptions associated with other mediums and tools and in such opens the door to inspire others to create their own collaged images."
