Exhibition dates: 20 October to 26 November 2022

Friends and the Manning Regional Art Gallery are pleased to host our next exhibitions. Join us in opening A History in the Making + Anthropocene + Grounded.

A History in the Making is a journey into the working practice of photographer Leonie Reisberg. During the process of selecting and assembling images for this exhibition Reisberg unwittingly created both a chronicle of her life and a record of the developmental stages in her work. The images represent a story and a multiplicity of perspectives that is, at the same time, uniquely self reflective and yet connects to us all as human beings..

Anthropocene is an exhibition exploring the ethical and environmental issues around our shaping of the natural world. The Anthropocene is a new, present day epoch, in which scientists say we have significantly altered the Earth through human activity. These changes include global warming, habitat loss, changes in the chemical composition of the atmosphere, oceans and soil, and animal extinctions.

Grounded is an exhibition that explores new ceramic works from Hayley Watt. Both form and function inspires the show, encapsulating the working practice of the artist and the materiality of clay. “A compilation of pieces that communicate my love for clay and everything it can become. Since my childhood, clay has always grounded me, tuning out the surrounding chaos.”
