What is a Nest?

How do we Share Nests?

This exhibition is an exploration of materiality, relationships and connectedness; what it means to be a part of something, and what it means to be apart.

Nests.  Home. Temporary. Intimate. Forever. Domestic. Private. Transient. The Family Nest. Love Nest. Nest Egg.

Over the last 12 months our nest narratives have been challenged and changed; from burnt down to lock down, a new post-COVID “Normal”; where shared isolation and shared disruption leads to adaptation, and a strengthening of the Human experience.

Jana Pearceova, Kevin Griffiths and Sam Everett are regional NSW artists whose works share a respect for being true to materials.

They discover their personal language that allows the materials to speak their strongest, in their native tongue; whether they are used for subject matter or as mark-makers.

They question the way materials evoke memory and emotions in themselves, and in others.

Their works look at the relationships and connectedness we have with ourselves, with others and with our environments; playing with the different scale that these relationships and environments come in.

They create new narratives with and without words, reflecting upon our private and personal relationships with the Nests We Share.
