Join the Manning Regional Art Gallery team for a zoom conversation about the Genre of the Nude with judge, Wendy Sharpe, and winner, Loribelle Spirovski, of the 2021 Naked & Nude Art Prize.
Wendy Sharpe
Wendy Sharpe is one of Australia’s most acclaimed artists, she lives and works in Sydney and Paris. She has been awarded The Sulman Prize, two Travelling Scholarships, The Portia Geach Memorial Award (twice), The Archibald Prize, and many others. She has been a finalist in The Sulman Prize twelve times, and The Archibald Prize seven times. She has held over 60 solo exhibitions around Australia and internationally.
Loribelle Spirovski
Loribelle Spirovski's professional practice is characterised by a highly varied and experimental approach to painting, with a focus on portraiture and figurative/landscape. Her works have been exhibited and collected internationally and have been selected as finalists in art prizes including the Archibald, Portia Geach and Lester Prize. She lives in Sydney, Australia with her husband, concert pianist and writer Simon Tedeschi.
The Naked & Nude Art Prize
The Art Prize is a partnership between Friends of the Manning Regional Art Gallery and the Manning Regional Art Gallery. After 31 years, the Naked & Nude Art Prize has become a prestigious national event on the Australian Arts Calendar and is open to artists in a variety of mediums. The lucrative event in 2021 carried a $32,000 prize pool. The winning entry is acquired by the Friends and donated to the Manning Regional Art Gallery’s permanent collection.
