Opening event Friday 1 May at 6pm. Entry $10 adults, $7 Friends members

Australia Wide Six showcases the work of Ozquilt Network members from throughout Australia and overseas.

The exhibition features 39 small artworks, each 40x40cm. These works were selected by a panel made up of two internationally recognized textile artists, Kathleen Probst (USA) and Alison Muir (AUS), and curator Lynette Nilaweera (AUS).

The works demonstrate the scope and variety of the ‘stitched and layered textile’. Materials used range from cotton and silk to paper and plastic. Techniques include: hand and machine stitching, digital printing, needle felting, gelatin printing, plant-dyeing, collage and painting.

The works address many different themes with diverse interpretations and styles.

The Australia Wide exhibition program is series of biennial exhibitions which tour galleries across Australia.
